What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website can store in the browser on your computer, phone or tablet. Cookies can, for example, be used to remember choices, keep a user logged in, measure how a website is used, or personalise advertising.
Different types of cookies
Temporary
Session cookie
Stored temporarily during the visit and normally disappears when the browser is closed.
Time-limited
Persistent cookie
Remains until its set expiry date, or until you delete it yourself.
Cookies can also be first-party cookies, set by the website you are visiting, or third-party cookies, set by an external service used on the website.
Cookies on the Bergslagsbuss website
As of our latest technical review, the website’s own code sets no cookies and does not use local browser storage. We do not use Google Analytics, Google DoubleClick, the Meta pixel, or similar tools for analytics or targeted advertising.
Necessary technical cookies may be used without consent when required for a function you request yourself. The website currently has no login, shopping cart, or other feature that requires such a cookie.
External content and technical logs
Images and published content for trips and the gallery are managed through Sanity. When such content is loaded, your browser may connect to Sanity’s servers. This is not the same as Bergslagsbuss placing a cookie, but technical data such as IP address, browser type and timestamp may appear in normal server and security logs kept by the website’s hosting or content providers.
The website does not contain embedded video players, maps or social media feeds that place marketing cookies. Ordinary links to external websites are covered by that external website’s own cookie policy once you choose to follow the link.
Managing cookies
In your browser settings you can view, delete or block cookies, and choose to be asked before new cookies are stored. If you block all cookies, features on other websites, such as login and shopping carts, may stop working.
If the website changes
If we later introduce analytics tools, advertising or other services that use non-essential cookies, we will update this page and obtain consent before the cookies are stored. It will then be just as easy to decline as to accept, and possible to change your choice afterwards.
